Bantock Park magpie, very bold, was already rather near, and knew I was there. Yet kept coming closer as it probed the grass of one of the Pitch and Putt bunkers for things to eat.
A dozen or more brown balls scattered on one of the areas of short grass in West Park recently, some clustered tightly together. They were puffballs, possibly umber-brown puffballs.
Another visit to West Park. Once again, one of the semi-resident herons standing not far from the shore of boating lake island. Once again, it didn’t seem to be doing anything particularly. Perhaps it was sunbathing.
