Lone verdigris mushroom growing by the footpath in Compton Rough. Most of the distinctive “tarnished copper” green colouring had been washed off the cap by rain, with just a trace still present around the rim.
Honey fungus only just beginning to form a cluster of fruiting bodies. Seen from above and the side, growing on a tree stump beside the Railway Walk at Finchfield. The final picture is of a more mature clump of honey fungus growing on a stump in Himley P;antation.
Candlesnuff fungi, a fraction of an inch tall, growing from a fallen log by the side of the Railway Walk. These were only a few days old. I’d checked the same log less than a week earlier, with no signs of fungi.
