Dunnock walking along the ground in West Park recently.

Rosebay willowherb flowers are just starting to open. This one was taken by the canal near Wightwick at the weekend.

Orchids flowering in a damp meadow on the side of Toposcope Hill in Baggeridge Country Park.

I think they were early marsh orchids.

The first of yesterday’s goslings spots the shore, and responds with a burst of speed.

These pictures were taken a month ago. I saw the family earlier this morning. All seven goslings are still thriving.

Dryad’s saddles are fungi found growing, often, as here, in a group, part way up a tree trunk.

These were on a stump in the grounds of Himley Hall.

Hawkbit when its flowers weren’t quite ready to open. Growing on rough ground, but probably a garden variety.

These foxgloves were growing right up against a garden hedge in Worfield village.

Early morning sunlight catching rainwater left behind on horsetails.

Not so instantly recognisable as the flowers, but just as distinctive. These cowslips were growing the the wildflower meadow area of Springvale Park.

The entire family were crossing the lake.

I am always amazed at the range of different forms of grasses.
