Willow Pond, in Turners Fields in the Smestow Valley Nature Reserve, one of two male broad bodied chasers resting on the pondside vegetation. The other was too far away to get a picture.

Azure damselfly at Old Nursery Pond in the Smestow Valley Nature Reserve earlier this week. Resting on buttercups, so they yellow of the flowers formed a colour contrast to the blue of its body.

Carrion crow, West Park, first seen watchful in a tree near the lake.

A few minutes later, it flew down to the edge of the lake, climbed down the bank, and kept arefully lowering its head to take several beakfulls of water.
