More butterflies attracted to a graden by buddleia flowers – this time small whites.

Palomino cup fungi, clustering tightly together. They had forced their way up through the joint between the pavement and a garden wall.

On sunny days, buddleia (aka butterfly bush) flowers are a magnet of lots of insects, not just butterflies.

While they are there, they are often so intent on feeding that they allow a closer approach that normal, as did these red admirals.

Damsons, clustering thickly on a branch, just as they were starting to ripen.

Ladybirds: a couple of pictures of harlequin larvae have sneaked in there, but most are of native species. There are 2-spot, 7-spot and 14-spot.
