Small, perhaps young, smooth newt which hangs out under a bird bath, perhaps because there are plenty of small slugs there for it to eat.

This year’s West Park cygnet pair, hatched back in late March or early April, are now growing up fast.

Keeping cool and hydrated is important while we have a heatwave. The same goes for frogs, like this young one partly submerged in the water of a bird bath.

Comma butterflies, resting on leaves or on a garden table on sunny days. Displaying themselves in a prominent position to try to attract members of the opposite sex.
