Remains of the private swimming pool of Colonel Thornycroft, Victorian businessman and original owner of the house which became the core of Tettenhall College.

The pool is in the middle of the college wood on the slopes of Tettenhall ridge. An outcrop of the sandstone running along the side of the ridge can be seen in the background.

Among the buildings which can be seen: the Molineux Stadium, Civic Centre with the tower of St Peter’s church behind, and three church spires, St Jude’s, St Mark’s and St John’s.

Bracket fungi, growing shelf-like from tree trunks, often look like they are made from a series of concentric arcs when viewed from above. These were all the same colour.

Tree of heaven, originally from China and parts adjacent. As often, the strongest coloured autumn leaves are on exotic, imported species.
