Magpie on one of the information boards by the boating lake at West Park. From there it had a clear view of the prime spot for feeding the birds.

Willow catkins on a tree by the Smestow in the Paddock at Newbridge, just as the first pollen began to develop, giving them a slight yellow tinge.

Confluence of the Graiseley Brook and the Smestow Brook. The Graiseley Brook crosses Compton Park almost completely culverted underground, merging once to feed Compton Park pond, then again at the far side of the Barley Field. Culverted again to pass under the Railway Walk, briefly in the open before a final culvrt under the canal at Prefab Weir (behind me when I took this picture). Then this last short stretch before meeting the Smestow, running parallel to Henwook Road.
