Half a dozen cygnets and a parent swan swimming near the shore of the lake in West Park. The chicks may only have hatched in the previous twenty-four hours.

A pair of mallards at the new pool in Compton Park had nine ducklings at the end of last month. When the chicks were on the water they were hyperactive, darting rapidly, trying to catch flies. These were the best pictures I managed of them.
