Spindle fruit, getting redder
I keep popping back for another look at a spindle tree by the Railway Walk at Newbridge, watching the fruit change colour as they ripen. They’re now pink all over, and getting redder.
Dragonfly, a common darter male, on the footpath by the canal, near to Wightwick Mill lock. The males usually perch where they can watch a stretch of still or slow-flowing water. Because the path is work to a lower level than the rest of the canal bank, this one’s field of view only began well above water level.
