Collared earthstar (slight return)

Collared earhstar

Back on my feet, with the support of a fancy splint and two crutches at the moment. It’s still leaving me a bit limited in the photography I can manager. Only on the phone’s camera, only standing up straight, and only if there’s someone else at hand to hold at least one crutch while watching that I don’t fall over.

Despite all that, I did manage a few fungi shots on a walk this morning. This collared earth star was lurking under the hedge of a front garden we passed.

Normal service will be resumed asap

There’s going to be some delay on posts here. The most recent posts have been from a short holiday early in August.

Since then, a series of medical events have got in the way.

I had cataract surgery, which has left me with a different focus in each eye until the second one is done soon.

Then I had a heavy fall, broke my kneecap and messed up the tendon. Until my leg heals I won’t be able to get out to take any pictures, or even to get to the PC to upload the few sets which are currently in hand. Hope it won’t be long before I can get posting again.

A field next to the church in the quiet Cotswold village of Fullbrook, and what looked like a mangalitza pig half-hidden in the weeds.

Moorhen nest in the River Windrush at Burford, with two well-grown chicks. I’m not sure what is providing the platform for the nest.
