Towards the end of last month, a series of nights with heavy rain left West Park with extensive puddles. Some of the Canada geese headed straight to wade in the water, stooping down to drink the water, or perhaps to sift the mud for something edible.
Rufous milkcap, possibly
About an inch tall, with a cap and stem already nibbled by snails and slugs, a mushroom growing on a front lawn. ID’d by iNaturalist as a rufous milkcap.
Yucca flowers budding, late November
The unseasonable mildness of the weather seems to be triggering lots of yuccas to have a go at a second flowering as winter approaches.

Rollrim with small pool
Rollrim mushroom growing by the new cyclepath / footpath in the middle of the ring road by the Molineux. Recent heavy rain had left a small pool of water in the middle of the mushroom’s cap.
Red (fallen leaf, Bantock)
One vivid red fallen leaf by the path at Bantock Park, contrasting strongly with the surrounding tones.
