One of Wolverhampton’s little hidden streams, Finchfield Brook rises on Finchfield Hill, and spends some of its course in underground culverts.
It emerges into view after crossing under the Smestow Valley Railway Walk before passing under the canal to join the Smestow Brook in the Wightwick area.

Small and delicate looking bracket fungi with semi-circular ridges which looked like growth rings. The fungus was growing on a fallen bough.
