Berries on ivy growing by the canal towpath at Compton. The berries had been heavily frosted during the cold night, but the morning sun was beginning to melt the ice crystals.

Candle snuff grows on dead wood, often on tree stumps or dead roots hidden underground. This was growing downwards on the underside of a fallen tree trunk in Himley Plantation.
