Oak leaf buds just beginning to open, on the same tree as the flowers in the next post and seen at the same time.

A patch of dead nettle was growing and displaying its white flowers in the middle of a large area of true nettle by the side of Compton Park pool recently.

It’s lambs that are supposed to gambol. There were some in the next field, just calmly feeding, on grass and one ewe’s milk. Instead, it was this English longhorn calf which was running around leaping in the air.

Reddish tinge to the stem and leaves at the tip of the plants, new growth on nettles.
