The edge of Bags Pool, Baggeridge Country Park. A family of Canada geese, two adults with three young, themselves already in adult plumage, but half the size of their parents.

Currently showing, a shoo-fly plant flower (the plant also known as an apple of Peru, apple of Sodom, Peruvian bluebell). A bye-product of putting out birdseed in the winter.

A blush of purple colour to these bindweed flowers, growing on the wall of the former lock-keeper’s cottage at Wightwick Lock.

Cinnabar moth caterpillars galore! Patch of ragworts in flower covered in what seemed to be hundreds of the crawling eating machines.

Ringlet butterfly which landed in a hedge just a couple of feet from me. looked at from one direction, its wing was in bright sunlight; from the other direction, a wing in deep shade. Final picture is of a different individual, resting with its wings open.

Sweet pea flowers bursting thr ough the fence of the Castle Grounds at Bridgnorth, overhanging Castle Walk.
