Lots of orchids, in the midst of plenty of other wild flowers, at Baggeridge Country Park a couple of days ago. There’s one lone pyramidal orchid, the only one I saw. Can you spot which picture it is? The others are spotted orchids, southern marsh orchids, or hybrids of these two species.

The two surviving cygnets on West Park lake. They had come in the hope of blagging some bread, but were content to be eating some of the algae on the stones just offshore.

This year’s West Park swan family on the lake, the adults taking a quick chance to feed while the two remaining cygnets swam nearby.
