Dunnock on the top of a wall, looking around. Someone came from the other direction, so the bird decided it was time to go.

View over Rock Pool, just upstream from the buildings in Himley Hall park, looking peaceful with the water lily leaves and the reflections of the fringing trees.

Scarce chaser (Libellula fulva) dragonfly, seen near the estuary end of the Exeter Canal. Seen mid-June 2017, but I’ve just noticed that the picture hadn’t been posted yet.

Looks very like the much more common broad-bodied chaser. If a local birder hadn’t pointed out that they could be found there, I would almost certainly have missed it.

Adult swans with their cygnets, finding stuff to eat in a canal lock.

Small moth resting and possibly feeding on dock flowers last month.

Half-grown moorhen chick swimming in the canal by the Wildside Centre. I couldn’t see any sign of parent birds or other chicks, likely hiding in the bankside vegetation nearby.
