Green bottle flies feasting on a fallen mulberry which had dropped from the tree carrying the berries in the previous post. The stains from the juice are purpling the grass.

Green leaves, mulberries turning from red to black as they were ripening. Growing on a tree in the middle of the lawn of New Place garden, Stratford. Beware of standing below when they are ripe. The berries drop without warning and release juice on the slightest contact, creating an indelible stain.
