Two large white butterflies on a patch of damp ground. They walked towards each other, then stood facing, seemed to sniffing each other with their antennae.
Probably brought in as an eco-friendly way of controlling the vegetation in the area where Toposcope Hill comes down to Bags Pool, a small group of goats. When I noticed them, they were resting in deep shade to avoid the mid-morning heat.
The edge of Bags Pool, Baggeridge Country Park. A family of Canada geese, two adults with three young, themselves already in adult plumage, but half the size of their parents.
