Here then it's gone: chicken of the woods

Chicken of the woods fungus growing on a willow by the Riven Wensum near the centre of Norwich. When I went back to the site the next day the fungus, a favourite for foodies, had all been harvested, cropped by a sharp knife close to the trunk.
