Common blue damselflies on Compton Park pool. Thirty or more present, flying over the shrinking areas of open water. Most were unattached males, but several pairs engaging in mating and ovipositing.

Seashore wagtail, Southwold

Pied wagtail by the Southwold seashore. The bird had taken its territory on the end of a canalised stream, so small as to be almost dried up. It seemed to be endlessly searching the algae of the stream bed and the neighbouring concrete sea wall for invertebrate prey.
