Elusive butterflies (ringlet?)

Elusive brown butterflies which never settled enough for me to get a clear view of them. These pictures are the clearest from perhaps two dozen tries at getting images of the insects, possibly ringlets. Seen at several wildflower meadows: the ones pictured from Baggeridge Country Park, Bilbrook Jubilee Wood and the Barley Field.

Meadow salsify, also known among other names as jack got to bed at noon, in various betwixt and between states: flower about to open, flowering finished but seed-head not yet ripe and open, and seed-head almost gone.

Ivy leaf with green-veined white butterfly

Green-veined white butterfly resting on an ivy leaf. Because the wings are closed, the darker patterns along the veins can be seen, and a definite identification of the species made.
