Large red damselflies – these two individuals rested on leaves in our garden on successive days earlier this month.

Just a sample of the coot chicks, all fairly recently hatched, on the lake at West Park in the past few days.

West Park a few days ago. Large carp jumping in several places in the lake, and gathering near the surface by the shore, clearly visible.

Possibly getting ready for the annual spawning ritual, but the conditions for taking exercise under lockdown not the best for hanging around to see if they were just about to start thrashing around in the water.
