Two well grown ducklings and the mother mallard on Old Nursery Pond recently. I hadn’t seen any sign of the birds before on previous occasional visits to the pond.

A mould almost completely covers the above-ground surface of a mushroom. The mushroom is one of the amanita species, so I’m assuming the mould is the amanita mould (or mold).

Young nuthatch at a vantage point on the top of a tree, calling loudly and persistently.

Earwig, resting on the leaf of a mint.

Collection of pictures of comma butterflies which came for flowers in the garden recently.

Acorns developing, just beginning to peek out from the knobbly cups protecting them.
