A nursery web spider on a leaf, from the size probably a female. I am now on the look-out for webs enclosing a hundred or so pin-head sized baby spiders.
White water lilies and fringed water lilies (with yellow flowers) both flowering on Old Nursery Pond. Don’t recall ever seeing the fringed water lilies before. From the shore, the flowers look very like those of member of the buttercup family
Cuckoo pint (wild arum – and a slew of other vernacular names) is not a wildflower often found in gardens. I noticed these, with ripening berries, in a front garden on Compton Road
