Ivy Cellophane Bee on ivy flower

Ivy bee (aka ivy cellophane bee) on an ivy flower. This species of bee was first reported in southern England in 2001, and has been spreading north since.

A patch of ivy, flowering, was attracting lots of insects: wasps, hoverflies and many of these ivy bees.
