Shaggy scalycaps, distinctive mushroom usually found growing in clumps, often at the base of tree stumps or dead or dying trees.

Squirrels seen on various visits to West Park. The squirrels there have got so used to being fed that some of them seem to have been teaching themselves to perform tricks to look cuter.

Grey knight mushrooms: these were growing in short grass by the side of the road in a quiet cul de sac.

Once again the sparrows which are monopolising the birdfeeders. Once again they are spending most of their time on the fat balls. Just occasionally varying the diet, having a few sunflower hearts.

Another of the yellowish waxcap species growing in close proximity in short grass. The largest of these yellow waxcaps still kept some of the original green when these pcitures were taken. The others were turning the yellow which results when rain washes some of the pigments away.

Two herons once again on the West Park boating lake island. The one further from the shore resolutely staring in a direction where it couldn’t see the other. That one twisting its neck. Looking in the same direction as the other, looking at the other, and looking in the opposite direction to the other.
