Last summer, the garden was visited by an adult scarlet tiger moth. Now, crawling over alkanet leaves, a brightly coloured caterpillar. Just the one – at least so far.

First ducklings of the year

First ducklings of the year

The first set of ducklings I’ve noticed this year, pictured what looks like just a few hours after coming out of their shells.

Now seen them several times on different days. Though still very young, they are moving up and down the canal, from the Hordern Road bridge to beyond the water bridge.
