Orbweaver spider on jack by the hedge
Tiny orbweaver spider on the same patch of jack by the hedge as the caterpillar shown a couple of days ago. Even when it was pointed out to me, I could only spot it because its reddish colour contrasted with the green elsewhere.
One of the greylag geese pairs at West Park with their now quite well grown goslings. Not for the first time, I came across them just after someone had disturbed them enough for the parents to lead them all to the safety of the water.
Three swans, West Park
Three of the adult swans in West Park, right up by the bridge. It’s very unusual to see them more than a few yards from the safety of the water.
Orange tip caterpillars on the seed pods of jack by the hedge plants. Scroll to earlier posts for pictures of females feeding on the flowers of the same plants, and likely laying the eggs these hatched from.
Geese feeding on daisies
A group of the resident Canada geese in West Park ambling in step as they were feeding on a patch of lawn which was then covered in daisies.
