View downstream from the ferry landing and boat hire area opposite the RSC’s Courtyard Theatre at Stratford on Avon.
Just a few hundred yards further downstream, and the scene looks like one of rural tranquillity. There is actually a busy main road heading up the slope to the left of the picture.

View of the bridge itself, busy with traffic. It is only wide enough for vehicles to travel in one direction at a time.
Bright colours of autumn: red (for danger) yew berries and the tree’s evergreen leaves.

They were growing through sphagnum moss on damp ground.
Closer view of the heron which featured in the previous post. The neck looks too thin to support the head, let alone to swallow the kinds of prey the bird lives on.
It was just downstream of Lucy’s Mill Weir, and seemed aware of but unconcerned by the regular pedestrian traffic on the bankside footpath.
