As this week’s weather turns cold, a look back to the balmy days of last week, and flowers which were brought on by the warm spring sun.

These bluebells were in woods in the Worfe valley upstream of Rindleford.

Blue and white bluebells (presumably cultivated, and the Spanish species) growing together in a corner of the quiet churchyard at Berkswell.

Tortoiseshell butterfly extending its long proboscis to syphon up some of the nectar from the mass of flowers on a blackthorn bush.

Pasque flowers (actually pictured in Easter week) growing in a front garden in Bridgnorth. They had so much pollen it was falling onto the lower petals.

Its springtime, so there must be young lambs in the fields. These could be seen from quiet footpaths in south Shropshire.
