Dragonfly of the same species as in the previous post, but this time a southern hawker male, with blue patches on the body.

This one was on the hedge by the track on Northycote Farm, perhaps a hundred yards away from Berry Brook.

The leaves are circular, like coins, and (very) roughly the size of pre-decimalisation pennies. “Wort” usually indicates that a plant has or had a use in herbal treatment, but the only use known for sure for pennywort is in homoeopathic “medicine”.
