The view looking towards Wighwick Lock on a morning with only the slightest breeze, calm enough that there were only tiny ripples in the surface of the canal to disturb the reflections.

Larch bolete from above
Larch bolete, a mushroom which grows in association with larch trees. Taken when the fungus was still damp from dew, so the surface was shiny.
I didn’t fancy bending down on the damp grass that morning, so the pictures were taken at eye level. For other pictures of the same species of mushroom from their own level, and showing the cap surface when dry, see this earlier post.
