Post number 2000: Autumn scene, West Park

Autumn scene, West Park

View across the floral bed to a large tree whose leaves were just beginning to turn autumnal at the end of last month.
With this post, the number of posts has reached 2,000, with at least one post a day since September 2009. There have been more than 3,500 photos and 35 short videos, almost all taken within a day’s round trip travel of Wolverhampton.

I don’t feel any nearer to exhausting the range of subject matter than I did when the blog started.

That picture was taken a couple of weeks back. The view from the same spot today is a lot more bleak.

The flower beds were cleared shortly after the picture was taken. At the moment they are just showing bare earth.

The lime tree at the centre of the picture has lost most of its leaves in recent breezy and rainy weather. As the last leaves cling on, the tree looks bedraggled.

Perhaps things will cheer up when we finally get some more sunshine.

Another day later, and the parkies have started to replant the flowerbeds. Even with the job half finished on a miserable grey day, it’s amazing how much difference it makes.
