The weather we have had this year has produced unusually good crops of the St George’s mushroom.
These were growing in rings: something I have never noticed before for this species.
There are three different rings, of varying degrees of completeness, represented here.
All three rings were within a few yards of each other: so close that the fruiting bodies may have been growing from the same underground structure perhaps?

Just seen your photos of the St George’s mushrooms on the Wolves Wild website. What a lovely sight. Can you tell me where they were growing.
They were growing by the entrance to the car park of my local college.
