Native to north America, the evening primrose has now had almost four centuries spreading in Britain.

During the recent spell of hot weather, this snail was resting for the day on an ivy leaf.

These thistles were still in flower a month or so ago.

Many members of the russula family are both common and brightly coloured.  This one, whatever species it is, lacks a bright colour.

The straight track down the western edge of Sutton Park follows the course of a Roman road.

This mallard was with her ducklings by the canal in the Bumble Hole LNR back in July.

Found on marshy ground, here the edge of the pool in the Hampton in Arden LNR by the packhorse bridge.
