Early morning sunlight catching rainwater left behind on horsetails.

Not so instantly recognisable as the flowers, but just as distinctive. These cowslips were growing the the wildflower meadow area of Springvale Park.

Geese with young goslings in West Park early last month.

The entire family were crossing the lake.

Three different roadside grasses flowering.

I am always amazed at the range of different forms of grasses.

Common blue damselflies resting on a reed leaf as they mate.

The blue ones are male: the females are greener.

Pictured at the edge of the pond at the Marsh Lane Nature Reserve, Hampton in Arden. as were these males.

Yellow rattle plant beginning to flower. This one was in the wildflower meadow area of Springvale Park.

Coots on their nests, presumably incubating eggs. This was one of several coots nesting on the West Park lake. Its nest seemed dangerously close to the shore.

This one was a little further out, in Perton Pool.

Pair of greylag geese with seven goslings on a path by the lake in West Park.

This gosling was already well grown when I first noticed it, sitting down nibbling grass.
