Grey spotted amanita mushrooms, growing on a front lawn where they appear every year. Although they had not been up long, they had already been nibbled in several places, possibly by slugs or snails.

Pattern: straw bales

Straw bales stacked up, for once not sealed in the ubiquitous black plastic. A fresh sprouting of grass on the top of the bales breaks the regularity of the pattern.

Sheep grazing under oak tree

A pair of sheep industriously muching up grass while keeping in the shade of an oak. Another footpath crossing a nearby field, where one of the flock was keeping me under observation.

Jackdaw with a touch of white, Northycote Farm

One of the Northycote Farm flock of jackdaws, patches of white in its feathers. It was searching for morsels to eat on the ground of one of the pig enclosures, then perching on one of the fence posts nearby.
