Wood blewits, a favourite with fungi foragers. Tbese were in a front garden by one of the main roads into Wolverhampton, possibly brought their by the wood mulch they were growing on.
Pink waxcaps, a rare type among this group of mushrooms, are unmistakable because they are the only ones which are pink. Also called ballerina waxcaps, these were growing in the short grass of the churchyard at Great Malvern Priory Church earlier this month.
Less than an inch high, but these scarlet hood waxcap mushrooms stood out from the short grass they were growing among because of their bright red colour. Spotted in a flattish area on the slope of the Malvern Hills.
