I thought this view centring on the speculum of a mallard drake coming out of eclipse plumage formed a pleasant abstract composition.

Almost hidden by nettles at the bottom of a sandy bank, a mushroom is just visible. Its stem indicated it was a sandy stiltball, which doesn’t usually have this pale upper surface.
