Bluebells, about to flower

Bluebell, about to flower

Bluebells, about to flower late in March. The second pair of pictures were taken a week after the first. Unlikely to be the same individual plants, but all pictures show the then most advanced flowers in the same patch on a shady bank near Aldersley Junction.

Coot on a tarmac footpath

Coot on a tarmac footpath

A visit to West Park, early on a Sunday morning. Walking the footpath around the lake, there was a section where several coots were sitting, looking relaxed, either on the tarmac of the path or the nearby grassy area. Most, including this bird, stayed where thy were even when someone passed right by them.
