Swan with five cygnets on the smaller pool at Perton. Only the pen was with the young ones. The cob was on land at the far side of the pool.

Paintings on the bridckwork of bridges passing over the South Staffordshire section of the Railway Walk, Lower Penn and Wombourne.

More vegetation I noticed on my lockdown exercise walks. This time several of the subjects are the wild grasses, mainly from the Bantock Park wildflower meadow.

The first ducklings I’ve managed to see this year, a recently-hatched pair with the mother mallard on the canal near Compton.

Weevil, possibly a willow weevil, resting on a hazel leaf early on a sunny morning.

Coot chicks, West Park. Most still very young, with the patch of red feathers on their heads, some being fed by their parents.

One rather older chick also pictured, as has the turtle, with coot nests near the log where it suns itself.
