Wren, just about visible, standing at the edge of the Finchfiled Brook. It was skulking behind the grill at the end of the culvert, where the brook emerges into daylight after passing under the Railway Walk.

I must have been the first person to go round the West Park boating lake one morning, as I disturbed one of Wolverhampton’s ring-necked parakeets which had been resting on the fence.

The bird immediately took off, and flew to the greater security of a perch among the tops of the trees on the island.

As we move into spring, the colours of nature are getting mor4 varied. Here is some magenta, as the flowers on a ribes bush begin to open.
