Basking in the sun, standing in the lake on a half-submerged fallen branch, the West Park turtle. It was moving, but very slowly. Perhaps to get exactly the right angle from the sunlight, perhaps to keep its balance as the coot on the other end of the branch preened.
Snakes head fritillary flowers in a front garden recently. Now gone over for another year.
