Bunches of viburnum (guelder rose) berries (or fruit or whatever they are) starting to turn from green to red about a month ago.
Green shield bug on bay leaf
A green shield bug taking a brief rest on the leaf of a bay bush. Both the texture and the predominant colour of the upper surface of the buglooked like an excellent match to those of the leaf it was standing on.
Greens: haws, very unripe
Just beginning to develop, very unripe and still green, haws perhaps half the size they will eventually reach. This is how they were just about a month ago.
Bumbling on a bramble flower
There was plenty of nice weather when the bramble flowers were out this year, so they were visited by lots of bumble bees and other insects. A good crop of blackberries should be coming, weather permitting.
