This cobweb had been built in the rotting heart wood of a tree stump in the Wren’s Nest Reserve in Dudley. It was covered in frost earlier this month.

Brown mottlegill mushrooms are small mushrooms, often found in troops on lawns and similar cut grassy areas in the autumn. The centre of the cap is frequently paler than towards the rim.

Yellow coral fungus, Wightwick Manor

A fungus which looks like short stalks, less than an inch high, which lead nowhere. Often found in short grass such as mossy lawns.

These were growing near to one of the pools in Wightwick Manor garden.
