Rock exposure, Pendeford

Lichen and moss covered Bromsgrove Sandstone, aka Lower Keuper Sandstone, exposed on Wobaston Road, Pendeford.

This rock, rarely visible on the surface, is resistant to weathering, and underlies some of the higher ground to the west of Wolverhampton, including Tettenhall ridge.
