Orchids flowering in a damp meadow on the side of Toposcope Hill in Baggeridge Country Park.

I think they were early marsh orchids.

The first of yesterday’s goslings spots the shore, and responds with a burst of speed.

Closer views of the then-fluffy young goslings, previously seen with the adult birds.

These pictures were taken a month ago. I saw the family earlier this morning. All seven goslings are still thriving.

Dryad’s saddles are fungi found growing, often, as here, in a group, part way up a tree trunk.

These were on a stump in the grounds of Himley Hall.

Hawkbit when its flowers weren’t quite ready to open. Growing on rough ground, but probably a garden variety.

These foxgloves were growing right up against a garden hedge in Worfield village.
