Fleeing fowls: Swans, set two

Fleeing fowls: Swan

Second group of pictures of the swans escaping the parkies adding a chemical to treat the water in West Park lake.

The lens I used for all of these fleeing fowls posts doesn’t do autofocus. I had to use a technique called pre-focusing – it was about the only way to get clear pictures of moving subjects when us oldies started to use cameras.

If I did have autofocus and used it, I would have had to throw away several goes as focused wrongly. With the old-fashioned method (and years of practice using it) I didn’t miss a shot.

Hanging around, plane and simple

Hanging around, plane and simple

Seeds, grouped in a now dried spiky fruit, hanging down from the twig of a plane tree. The buds of this year’s leaves beginning to break, with the whole seen against the bright blue sky of a sunny winter morning.

Fleeing fowls: Swans, set one

Fleeing fowls: Swan

More of the waterfowl disturbed by the treatment of the West Park lake. I took so many pictures of swans heading off that I’m posting them in two batches. Second set to follow tomorrow.

Can you work out where this is, and what is happening?
