These haws seemed to have ripened completely in the last week of August.

Another bright red berry, this time from a honeysuckle growing in the hedgerow of a quiet lane.

More commonly, this plant has a plainer pink flower.

The hoverflies seemed to find these blackberry flowers irresistible.

A snail was also feeding, but on a leaf (bottom of the picture, below).
